Includes a bound volume of notes on Samuel Bell's time in the California state senate as a representative of Alameda and Santa Clara counties (1857-1858) and the California state assembly (1862), as well as his involvement in the founding of the College of California (U.C. Berkeley). Also includes two letters relating to the Presbytery of San Francisco and the Congregational Association of America.
